Full fund details
- Objective
- Seeks capital appreciation by participating in positive returns of the Underlying ETF up to the Upside Cap and providing buffered returns against losses less than the Inverse Performance Threshold.
- Strategy
- Invests primarily in the State Street SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust to provide dual-direction positive returns regardless of the Underlying ETF's performance over the Outcome Period. If the Underlying ETF appreciates, the Fund seeks to provide returns up to the Upside Cap of 12.59%. If the Underlying ETF declines by less than or equal to 10%, the Fund aims to match the absolute value of losses, providing returns up to the Inverse Performance Cap of 10%.

Structural notes on how this fund behaves. Read our guide on the 6 warning signs.
Buffer ETF — downside protection at a cost
Defined-outcome funds cap upside (typically 8–20%) in exchange for partial downside protection (9–30%), priced via options. Fees are materially higher than the underlying index (often 0.70%+ vs 0.03–0.10%). For most pre-retirees, a simple stock/bond mix achieves similar downside behaviour at a fraction of the cost.
