Full fund details

Objective
Seeks capital appreciation by participating in positive returns of the Underlying ETF up to the Upside Cap and providing buffered returns against losses up to 15% over the Outcome Period.
Strategy
Invests primarily in assets providing exposure to the Underlying ETF, aiming for dual-direction positive returns regardless of the ETF's performance. If the ETF appreciates, the Fund seeks to provide returns up to the Upside Cap of 9.45% to 11.20%. If the ETF declines by less than or equal to 15%, the Fund aims to match the absolute value of losses, capped at 15%. The strategy is designed to deliver these outcomes over the Outcome Period, with no guarantee of success in achieving them.

Buffer ETF — downside protection at a cost

Defined-outcome funds cap upside (typically 8–20%) in exchange for partial downside protection (9–30%), priced via options. Fees are materially higher than the underlying index (often 0.70%+ vs 0.03–0.10%). For most pre-retirees, a simple stock/bond mix achieves similar downside behaviour at a fraction of the cost.
