Seeks the highest available current income consistent with liquidity and low risk to principal; total return is a secondary goal.
Strategy
Actively managed: Portfolio Managers select fixed and floating rate investment-grade bonds and debt securities from domestic and foreign governments, corporations and trusts - including mortgage- and asset-backed securities, CDOs and CLOs - seeking under-priced issues. May invest up to 20% in below investment grade ('junk bonds') and in foreign issuers including emerging markets (capped at 20% non-USD). Maintains an average portfolio duration of three years or less.
