Strategy: Invests primarily in municipal bonds exempt from federal income tax, including those from U.S. states and territories. Maintains a portfolio with an average maturity of over 10 years and invests at least 65% in low- to medium-quality bonds rated BBB/Baa or lower. May invest up to 10% in distressed securities and in various types of municipal bonds, including general obligation and revenue bonds. The sub-adviser employs a research-intensive process to identify high-yielding bonds with attractive value based on yield, price, and credit quality.
