Objective
Seeks high current income without undue risk to principal.
Strategy
Actively managed core fixed-income portfolio of investment-grade U.S. debt — government obligations (>=35% of net assets), mortgage- and asset-backed securities (including CDOs and CMOs), and corporate debt — with effective duration generally within two years of the Bloomberg U.S. Aggregate Index. May invest up to 5% in below-investment-grade ('junk') bonds and up to 20% in foreign debt including non-U.S. dollar-denominated securities and emerging market countries. Uses U.S. Treasury futures to manage duration.
